Sas was born in the City of Leeds but grew up and honed his musical skills in South East London, Hassan Matthews aka ”SasKilla” has been dubbed as the most unique grime artist of a generation that emerged throughout the era influenced by Wiley and Dizzee Rascal.

On his come up Sas featured in a number of well-established pirate radio stations from Mistiq Fm, Heat Fm, Raw UK, Ontop Fm and DeJa Vu to the legendary Cult Underground dvd series such as Practice Hours, Streets incarcerated and Lord of the decks. Sas was then recruited to be a part of infamous Grime collective ‘Roll Deep’ at the meer age of sixteen by Wiley himself.

Whilst there he absorbed the acute attention to Lyrical Content aswell as selection of instrumentation that coincides with trend aswell as originality, subsequently refining his own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerged through his focus on the points of intersection between poetry, street life, and socialogical analysis.

Once SasKilla’s exposure grew he soon was a regular guest on global, worldwide known stations such as Bbc 1xtra, Bbc Radio 1, Kiss fm and Capiltal Xtra.

Saskilla started Nu Brand flexxx and rose to new heights on Televsion i.e Mtv Base, Channel Aka, FlavaTv, Kiss, with smash hit underground/overground cuts such as Feel so Good, Gash by the hour, Anthem , Waving the flag and Runway,

His acting talents then saw Sas featuring in Drama series such as Dublate drama on Channel 4 and featuring on Bbc 2’s NewsNight.

360 records a subsidiary of Universal Records then took action to sign the group Nu Brand Flexxx at only nineteen years old, this was a massive achievement for Sas and his team.

Touring with Example, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, N dubz, Tinchy stryder to name a few, are on Sas’s long list of international live performances.

SasKilla has also performed at huge events/festivals such as Leeds Festival, Reading festival and Lovebox,

Saskilla alongside another artist Jamkay began a Online revolution with the worlds First Weekly Visual Mixtape amassing millions of views between the two of them for 17 weeks supported by all the popular urban blogs and Media groups such as SBTV, Grmdaily, Noisey, Linkuptv. The project is highly credited for pushing the UK Urban scene interms of high level consistency and uniquely visualised concepts crediting no.1 artist on the grmdaily website artists ranking chart more than a dozen times.

This lead to Sas accompanying Black Butter signed artist Scrufizzer on an International European tour supporting Kendrick Lamar in 2013

Saskilla then worked closely with Bbc 1xtra developing his very own imprinted grime platform #GimmeGrime amassing over 4 million views in just under 18 months with the corporation and supporting bodies.

Saskilla then in 2015 had a war of words with Popular grime artist chipmunk causing him to release Chip of my shoulder a track which amassed a collective 1.8 million views online in 6 months with appearances on “Not For The Radio” and ‘’This is 50’’ aswell as recording the official Uk Aiight Refix

with Gunplay & Rick Ross Premiered on Charlie sloths BBC Radio 1 Rap show.

He is currently part of a Channel 4/Punch Records Musical Documentary Project alongside Shakka, Dizstortion and Terry Walker entitled Homelands filming is due to stop end of 2016.

In 2016 Saskilla’s releases are on independent label Defenders Ent which will be releasing his forth coming LP “Godson of Grime”

Sas  has been described as a young eclectic artist that has the ability to connect undeniable melodic lyrics with charisma, using emotions and experiences throughout his life to carve  a musical identity into his core listener.
